
Biology 1A
Course Description
This course will provide students with an overview of biology- the study of living things. It provides an introduction to the fundamental principles of life as they apply to both plants and animals. It will also provide students the opportunity to study inter-relationships of plants and animals with their environment. This course will fully prepare students for Biology 1B in which Genetics and Evolution are studied and related back to concepts covered in Biology 1A. Upon completion of this course students will show proficiency in course learning standards and daily targets outlined by the Next Generation Science Standards; as measured by classwork, participation, homework, projects, and tests.

End of Trimester Important Dates
Hi Parents and Students,
I wanted to send you out one last email of the term to thank you for a great trimester and to give you a few key dates for the coming week. I can't believe that the end of the term is finally here; I had a great time teaching all of my students. Here's what you need to know:
Friday 12/9- Unit 4 Exam, Interactive Notebook pages 88-109 due, and extra credit study guide due *Final study guide will be handed out*
Monday 12/12 and Tue 12/13- We will be playing review games to prepare for the final exam
Wednesday 12/14- Biology final exam, last day to turn in Unit 4 notebook, and final exam study guide due.
Thursday 12/15- We won't have any classes, but CMC will be taking all students Ice Skating to celebrate the end of a successful term.
Friday 12/16- No School- Teacher Grading Day- Enjoy your winter break!
Your Winter Term schedules should be coming out soon- or posted in synergy soon; so if you see that you will be taking either my health or biology classes next term, please come back to school 1/3/2017 prepared with a college ruled spiral notebook. If you don't have any, or can't get to the store, I will have a few for sale.
