3rd Per- Patterns Bio A Assignments

**This test covers TS4, TS5a, TS5b, and TS6**


I know some of you prefer a paper copy of the study guide as well. If this is you, feel free to submit that instead and just mark this one as done. 
The one advantage of goformative is that it will show you potential answers that you can compare yours to to make sure you're studying correctly.

You don't need to attach anything. I will make sure your research is done and award you points. 


With a partner, research the genetic disorder you’ve been assigned to find out the following and write your answers on the Research slide associated with that disorder. 
Mark the assignment as done on google classroom when you’re finished. Do not do the CER slide until day 2
The name of the enzyme associated with this disease (written in purple above the disorder name)- 1 pt
The substrate(s) for that enzyme- 2 pts
The product(s) of that enzyme- 2 pts
The symptoms of the disorder- 5 pts
Explanation of either: how a build up of the substrate causes symptoms and/or how a lack of the product causes symptoms- 5 pts

You will be working independently on this mini-assessment. 
The goal of this assessment is to construct an explanation based on evidence for how the structure of DNA determines the structure of proteins
You will be using the concepts of Hemoglobin and Sickle Cell Anemia to do this. 
Rubric: *providing explanations and details based on the rubric will ensure you get the highest score possible*

Online students: attach your copy of the WS to the assignment (complete 1-4 for full credit. doing 5 and 6 will give you extra credit)
In-person students: turn in your WS to Mrs. Andrews (complete 3 codes for full credit, doing 4 and 5 will give you extra credit)

Follow the instructions in your INB or this slide show. Show Mrs. Andrews your completed keychain for easy lab credit!

Instructions have been provided for you in slides and doc form. 
One person in the group will need to make a copy of the student template and share it with everyone in the group to work on collaboratively. 




To turn in your INDIVIDUAL assignment for a grade. Make a personal copy of the completed group slideshow project and attach to this assignment.

I will be grading TS3 and TS4 sections including vocab and learning tracker questions. 
Please attach your completed INB to this assignment before you turn it in!

1. Make a copy of your assigned group data table
2. Rename this document by deleting “Copy Of” and replacing it with your name and TS3 (country) population map
3. Create a Patterns Bio A folder in google drive (if you don’t already have one), and move this document to that folder
4. Make a graph in sheets following my instructions
5. Attach your file and turn it in

Vocab, Learning Tracker for TS1 and TS2, and Notes/Activities TS1 and TS2 will be graded.

10 points extra credit if you have everything completed. 


In person students: turn in to Mrs. Andrews before the test and click the blue "turn in" button on google classroom by 9:00 am on Friday so I can sync your grade effectively. 
At home students: attach your personal copy of the study guide and turn in on Google classroom by 9:00 am on Friday
