About Me

My name is Alana Jevert-Glover, and I teach English Language Arts and Survey of Art. I have a lifelong passion for storytelling in all its forms; whether it’s captured on a canvas, written in a classic novel or play, or experienced through a traveler’s camera lens.  I grew up in the big-city energy of Chicago and the sun of California, though I truly found my creative voice when I moved to Portland, Oregon for college.

When I’m not in the classroom, I spend my time paddleboarding around Oregon’s many lakes and rivers, playing the viola, working out, or at the ballet barre.  My most recent travel adventure took me through the stunning landscapes and history of Middle Eastern countries Jordan and Oman, a truly unforgettable experience! A highlight was a sunrise camel ride through the Sharqiya Sands desert on New Year’s Eve. My camel’s name was Barak, and he was very cute and funny. I would love to return soon as there is so much to explore; hopefully peace will return to the region.

At home, I share my life with my husband, Greg, two cats, and a semi-famous dog, Biscuit. I also lead the international travel program for students.  We've visited a long list of countries with CMC students; this is always the highlight of my year! This summer we will tour France & Spain and Japan in the summer of 2027. If you are interested in exploring the world with us, please contact me!
