Welcome! 

 

I am both the College Prep counselor for 11th graders and the Pathways to College counselor.

 

I received a Master of Science in School Counseling and Counseling from Portland State University. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University. I am from a city outside of Nashville, Tennessee, Murfreesboro. I moved to Oregon from Mississippi in the fall of 2022. 

 

I have worked in various roles in schools and nonprofit organizations. In Mississippi, I served in a nonprofit organization working with high schoolers in rural Mississippi. I worked to connect students and their families with essential resources, such as food, clean water, and academic support, while also helping them access school and college opportunities, including ACT preparation, college readiness, and interview skills. In schools, I have worked as an Educational Assistant assisting students with disabilities and teaching whole class lessons. I have served as a paraprofessional for summer program getting students caught up, ahead, and back on track for the school year. Before entering the role as a school counselor, I was a substitute teacher in Portland in over 20 different schools. Outside of school hours, I enjoy spending time outdoors camping and hiking with my two dogs. I also enjoy baking and crafting in my free time!
