Added Supports for CMC Students!

September 24, 2020

Clackamas Middle College Students and Families:

It is with great pleasure to share that Western Psychological and Counseling Services (WPCS) and CMC have expanded their partnership allowing for a full-time school-based mental health provider this coming 2020-2021 academic year. I am excited to return as CMC’s school-based therapist to support students and families. This year CMC students can work closely with one of Western’s substance abuse counselors and be linked to Skills Trainers to support resume building and develop future life skills that will be useful post-graduation.

Western's School Based Program is committed to providing quality, professional, and consistent therapeutic services to schools, giving students easy access to licensed behavioral health providers on a regular basis. Western works in collaboration with the school staff and administration while maintaining confidentiality. School-Based Therapists focus on addressing mental health and substance use concerns. Services are billed through OHP and most commercial insurances. School staff encourage students and families to access this wonderful new opportunity to support the students. All services are offered virtually and by phone until it is safe to resume in-person meetings. Please visit this link to learn more about services offered at WPCS: https://www.westernpsych.com/about.

The following steps are required for students to receive School-Based Virtual Therapy Services with WPCS:

  1. Complete WPCS self-referral form (see below) or call referral coordinator:
  2. Complete intake paperwork virtually with WPCS coordinator
  3. WPCS referral coordinator will schedule virtual initial intake session with therapist

Our time together was cut short last March due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Many of us have experienced higher levels of stress, isolation and anxiety due to the pandemic, distance learning and now more recently with the devastating fires. I am excited we can offer therapeutic services at the outset of the school year. I welcome students and families to sign-up for services now or at any time throughout the year. I look forward to supporting your children with life's challenges, transitions and share in their successes this coming school year!

Respectfully,

Annora Cavoulas, M.A., LMFT, ATR-BC
