From North Clackamas School District

September 11, 2020

Dear NCSD Families and Students:

We know many families, students, and staff are impacted by the ongoing fire and smoke conditions in Clackamas County. Unfortunately, for some members of our community, the impact of these fires has been devastating, and our hearts are with them, and we will do everything within our power to support these families, students, and staff.

As you know, the overall wildfire situation is fluid and North Clackamas Schools (NCSD) is actively monitoring developments and working in conjunction with local emergency responders as the district responds to this situation. As of today (Friday, Sept. 11), here is what is known about various NCSD operations:

District Closed Monday, September 14 - Due to the number of displaced families and staff, along with the continued forecast of unhealthy air quality, all NCSD operations and instructional activities are canceled for Monday, September 14 except for the following:

  • Food Delivery - Door to door food deliveries will resume on Monday, September 14. Due to these deliveries not occurring today (Friday), those who were supposed to receive food on Friday will receive theirs on Monday.

As stated above, this situation is dynamic and the next update will occur on Monday, September 14, unless conditions change dramatically over the weekend.

All of us at NCSD know these fires are adding stress to what has already been an exhausting period for many families and students. We will get through this together. Thank you for your ongoing efforts and please do all you can to be safe.

Sincerely,

North Clackamas Schools
