(April 11, 2023): Explore careers in the culinary, tourism and hospitality industries with a behind-the-scenes look at one of Oregon's premier hotels. Students will connect with inspiring professionals, see the teamwork needed to run a major hotel, experience hands-on culinary learning in the state-of-the-art kitchen, and learn about turning your first job into a well-paying and meaningful career in food, tourism, sales, finance, business and more. (April 19, 2023): Join the Oregon Humane Society Career Day to discover what working in animal welfare could look like for you. You will connect with professionals, tour the shelter, meet animals, get your questions answered, discover new career ideas, and hear from caring adults working in the medical, animal care and adoption fields. You will also learn what you can do NOW to prepare for a career in this field. IN PERSON at Oregon Humane.

(April 20, 2023): Explore careers at Nike. See the global HQ, gain insights from Nike professionals about getting started on your career path, and participate in hands-on learning. Choose between two tracks: product engineering/design and marketing. (A third track, focused on sustainability, will have limited space.) One priority focus for Nike is supporting young people who are underrepresented in business and STEM fields; students of all backgrounds are welcome. IN PERSON at Nike.
(April 25, 2023): Participate in a hands-on design charrette with real architects; explore careers in architecture and urban design; go on an architect-led walking tour to explore building styles in downtown Portland. Learn about the education and skills needed for an architecture career. IN PERSON at ZGF.
(April 28, 2023): Learn about the future of sustainable development and design at Timberlab. Go behind-the-scenes at the company that designed Portland International Airport’s beautiful, cutting-edge new mass-timber roof. See the design and manufacturing process and talk with professionals in engineering, construction, business and development about their career paths. Explore this new way to reduce the carbon footprint of our built environment! IN PERSON at Timberlab.

(May 4, 2023): Students will go behind-the-scenes at KGW Studios, explore the news set and control room, and witness a live show being broadcast. They will hear from industry professionals on what it's like to cover local news, do social media and sell or create advertisements in a fast-paced environment. They will also learn about getting started, developing skills and turning their first job into a great career. IN PERSON at KGW.
