Teaching, Learning & Professional Development is excited to offer language assessments again FREE this school year to all NCSD 9th thru 12th graders. This fall's exams will be held on Friday, November 12, at Milwaukie High School from 8:30-11:30 AM for all available languages. New language assessments are highlighted in RED:

 

  • STAMP 4S assessment : Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin (simplified and traditional), Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Spanish

 

  • STAMP WS (WorldSpeak) assessment: Amharic, Armenian, Chin (Hakha), Chuukese, Czech, Filipino (Tagalog), Haitian-Creole, Hawiian (‘Ōlelo Hawai’i), Hmong, Kannada, Ilocano, Marathi, Marshallese, Samoan, Somali Maay Maay, Somali Maxaa, Tamil, Telugu, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese, Yup’ic, Zomi.

 

The STAMP (STAndards-Based Measurement of Proficiency) assessment is a proficiency-based assessment that awards students up to 4 high school elective credits (AR) for knowledge of a language other than English. In conjunction with meeting the Essential Skills of reading and writing in English*, students are able to use the STAMP to demonstrate literacy in a partner language and fulfill the requirements to earn the State Seal of Biliteracy at graduation.


*The Essential Skills in reading and writing requirement is currently suspended for graduates pursuing the Biliteracy Seal.

In order to streamline our process of registration, the student or student's parents/guardians must register online
