Senior Project

Course Description

The Senior Project is a Clackamas Middle College graduation requirement that provides students with real world experiences and tools that will assist them in successfully transitioning from high school into the work force, college, or apprenticeship programs. Students will have the opportunity to earn college credit through Clackamas Community College’s Smart Internship Program. This experience will enable to students to meet the Personalized Learning components including the Extended Application requirement of the CMC diploma: Students apply and extend their knowledge in new and complex situations related to the student’s personal and/or career interests and post-high school goals through critical thinking, problem solving, or inquiry in real world contexts.

Senior Announcements 12.8.14

Hello Seniors!

I hope you're all making it through finals week successfully at CCC or getting ready to wrap up CMC classes next week! Please keep in mind a few things to stay on track for senior project, graduation and for Winter Term:

  • CCC rescheduled their College Night to tonight, December 9th at 6:30 in CCC's Gregory Forum. Free pizza, drawing for scholarships and tons of helpful information about applying to and paying for college at any college or university!

  • The last senior meeting for December is this coming Thursday, 12/11 from 12:15-1:00 at CMC. There will be representative from OSAC to speak about how to plan and pay for college. Do not miss this opportunity!!

  • In order to be approved for books for Winter term, you must return your college books on Thursday,12/18 along with a print out of your Fall term grades and your next term's schedule. You can print those on site or email them to me if you haven't already. This is a requirement of the CEO program - please see the letter and email that went out about this today.

  • Check your balance on your CCC account! Make sure to pay anything over $700 once your schedule is 100% confirmed.

  • SENIOR PROJECT GRADING: After finals are over, I will be checking on the status of your portfolio completion in Naviance Family Connection. If you have not completed the assignments due through the end of November and are not making any progress on December assignments, I will assign an Incomplete for the term. You will need to complete these assignments as soon as possible (ideally over the break) to be on track for your senior project credit. If you have any trouble accessing assignments or downloading documents, email me and I will send those to you directly. I will give additional time beyond December for completing the Training Plan assignment since that requires meeting with me, unless we have made other arrangements.
