The Internship Experience is a Clackamas Middle College graduation requirement that provides students with real world experiences and tools that will assist them in successfully transitioning from high school into the workforce, college, or apprenticeship programs. Students will have the opportunity to earn college credit through Clackamas Community College’s Smart Internship Program. This experience will enable to students to meet the Personalized Learning components including the Extended Application requirement of the CMC diploma: Students apply and extend their knowledge in new and complex situations related to the student’s personal and/or career interests and post-high school goals through critical thinking, problem solving, or inquiry in real world contexts.

Assignment #5 - Due October 18th (10 points)
Internship Experience Proposal Form (link to Google form)
When you have a plan for where you would like to complete your hours, please submit the electronic CMC Internship Proposal Form (link here) no later than October 18th (the earlier, the better) for approval to begin hours. Your counselor will confirm by email or in person that your proposal has been approved so you can begin your internship.
This project requires that students proactively seek out a site to complete 20 hours of career experience that is approved by CMC staff. Internship placements may include volunteering, job shadowing, formal training experiences, or paid jobs (in some cases). In order to help you in finding a site to complete your internship, we recommend you take the following steps:
- Check out CMC's database for Volunteering/Internship Opportunities for dozens of ideas!
- Read this article for tips on How to Find an Internship for strategies and inspiration!
- CCC also provides great tips on Finding a Internship, including a link to their Job/Internship board available to all students!
- Check out this list of local organizations available for volunteering and internships that CCC compiled.

Assignment #4 - Due October 11th (10 points)
Resume Draft
The first step to a successful internship or job search is to create a professional resume that outlines your experience and skills. A draft of your resume is due to your counselor, Kami Aguilar at [email protected] or Michael Ferber at [email protected] (please share the file on Google Drive or attach it to an email). We recommend using Word or Google Docs to create your resume so it is an editable document and share with your counselor or email as an attachment. Please see the video & slideshow included in Online Workshop #2 for resources to help you create your resume as well as the resources below. The Resume Worksheet can help as a template to record information in an outline format.
