We spent Thursday and Friday writing our counterclaim and conclusion, and then typing the essay, reading it aloud to a partner, and proofreading for mistakes.

Hello fellow writers! We wrote our 2 body paragraphs today using 3-part source integration. This powerpoint includes some sentence starters for Step 1, and then you can refer back to your handout for Steps 2 and 3. If you did not finish your 2nd body paragraph in class, you need to finish it for homework, because we are moving on tomorrow. Your homework this weekend is to go through all our refugee readings (both on paper and at newsela.com) and choose three sentences you want to quote in your own essay to help you prove your claim (that we are or are not helping enough). Put stars by those sentences, and be ready to write about them on Monday.
