Civic Engagement Questions

These questions require research and critical thinking to answer well. You need to draw on news articles as well as the textbook to make deeper more substantive connections and insights into the material. Also, take a look at the blogs that I suggest students should pay attention to in the syllabus, these are excellent resources for helping develop a much more robust understanding. These questions should be answered in depth and in multiple paragraphs that demonstrate an understanding of the chapter material. Please review the rubric, attached below, for an understanding of the components of the assignment.

Make sure you are making a complete argument. The rubric calls for an argument supported by illustrative examples. An argument requires a claim, premises (evidence), analysis, and a conclusion.

To answer these questions you need to draw on the following:

Utilize textbook reading
Classroom lectures
Supplemental readings, i.e. News & Media Sources
