Dear Clackamas Middle College Families,

Winter is coming, so it's a good time to review how NCSD manages inclement weather closures and delays. Click on the video link below or continue reading about our procedures below:

The most important thing families can do is stay connected. Here's what you need to know:

Closure/delay decisions are generally made by 6:30 a.m. or the night before. NCSD has 31 schools across more than 40 square miles, and winter weather conditions can vary across the district.

It's also important to understand that NCSD does not use snow routes. Therefore, if weather conditions make operating the entire bus route network unfeasible, NCSD will likely cancel school.

In some cases, NCSD may opt for a 2-hour delay. This just means that schools will be opened, but two hours late. Bus pick-up times will also be two hours later than regularly scheduled. Please be patient as road conditions often create delays.

In the event of a closure or delay, NCSD will notify families via email, text and app notification through Parentsquare.

You can also find closure information:
  • At the top of the district website and school homepages.
  • On social media:
    • Facebook: North Clackamas Schools
    • Twitter and Instagram: @nc12schools
  • By calling the School Closure Hotline — 503-353-6020
  • On television: KATU 2, KOIN 6, KGW 8, and KPTV12
  • Or by listening to 1190 KEX AM or 103.3 KKCW FM radio.
  • Families can also register for Flash Alert, which is a great option for extended family members.
