Assignment
Go to Google Art Project, Van Gogh Museum. There are hundreds of paintings in this collection. Choose 2 paintings with different color palates, make sure you write down the title of each one. Next you will look carefully at the painting and create a color palate of each hue, tint and shade that you see in the painting. This will require patience and careful observation.
Google Art project allows you to zoom in on the painting to see every detail, so it will be easier to examine the painting.
Create a palate of 1 ½ inch squares.
You will be graded on how carefully you mix colors and how closely you are able to match them to the colors in the painting.

Simultaneous Contrast is the effect of two colors seen in juxtaposition
Color interaction refers to the way colors influence one another.
Simultaneous contrast is most intense when the two colors are complementary colors.
For this assignment, divide your paper into 8 rectangular boxes, then make a smaller rectangular box inside each of the larger ones.

Assignment #4
Complementary Color
Select an image or logo from pop culture to explore complementary color relationships.
Arrange two side-by-side versions of the single image.
Reproduce the first image to the best of your abilities in acrylic paint that is true to the colors of the original image. This will test your ability to mix colors and match them as closely as possible.
Make sure you chose an image with colors that are represented on the color wheel- NOT black or white, as they do not have complements
In the second image repeat the same shape, but paint each color area using the complement of each color that's in the first image. For example, wherever there is a red area in the first image you will paint green in the second one.
