About Me: I am originally from the Virgin Islands, and spent much of my life in Miami, FL, although I have lived many different places. I’ve called the Pacific Northwest my home since 2000, when I attended Washington State University to earn my Bachelor’s and a Master’ degree in Natural Resource Management. I focused on Wildlife Ecology and spent some time working on endangered species restoration, predator-prey interactions, population dynamics, and herbivore nutrition. I then earned my Master’s in Education from University of Portland, with a focus on secondary science education. I have taught at the college and community college level, and even spent a few years as an Education Assistant in Kindergarten. I am looking forward to our time together learning about Biology, which is one of my favorite subjects.
When I’m not at CMC, I am with my husband and two children, and our dog. I love to cook, putter around in my garden, go on hikes in the great outdoors, bird watch, and read. I am a self-declared nerd. I love sci-fi, Marvel superheroes, and even the occasional bout of Skyrim. I believe that any day I learn something new is a good day.
