Services for English Learners is excited to offer the SLIP and STAMP assessments again this school year to all NCSD high school students grades 9-12. This fall's exams will be held on:

STAMP: Wednesday, November 1 at Clackamas High School (Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Hindi) Library at 8:30 AM for all languages

SLIP: Friday, November 3 at Milwaukie High School (Vietnamese, Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish* ) see flyer attached for specific times
*Vietnamese and Romanian language assessments will only be offered once this school year.

The STAMP (STAndards-Based Measurement of Proficiency) and the SLIP (Second Language Inventory Protocol) are proficiency-based assessments that award students up to 4 high school elective credits (AR) for knowledge of a language other than English. In conjunction with meeting the Essential Skills of reading and writing in English, students are able to use the SLIP and STAMP to demonstrate literacy in a partner language and fulfill the requirements to earn the State Seal of Biliteracy at graduation.

This fall we are delighted to offer these assessments FREE to our students! At this time, we cannot gaurantee that our spring opportunities will also be free. Space is limited, so please encourage students to register early.

More information on the SLIP and STAMP assessments and the State Seal of Biliteracy can be found on the Instructional Services webpage.

In order to streamline our process of registration, the student or student's parents/guardians must register online with their name, ID number, school and language. Space is limited, so please encourage students to sign up early.
