Looking backward to move forward.

It can be useful to reflect on earlier educational experiences and to analyze how those experiences have affected or are currently affecting ones movement toward that persons educational goals.

Take a minute and think of your first educational experience. This may or may not include public school. Describe this experience and how it may have influence your attitude and interest in learning.

my first educaational experience i remember was my first day of kindergarten. i told my mom not to stay because "i was a big girl" then later i had pee and i was too shy to ask where the bathroom was so i peed my wants and had to go home. it scarred me for life.

I don't really understand this question, but something that kept me motivated in learning was the fact of having a future. IF i knew i did not have to go to school or do anything to do really well in the real world then i wouldn't be in school right now. There is motivation to keep going if you want to succeed.

The first experience I had was when I was only 5 and i did horriable. I was isolated and not able to be in the group and was spanked and had corpal punishment implanted in my education life. You had to redo your paper if you didn't get an c or above and that just made me mad. I was a kid who never would want to listen and there for i didn't learn anything.

I started school since I was like 3years old, but I dont remember much. But I do remember being in first grade. I felt like the smartest student in that class. My teacher told us to count all the tables in the room and double it up, and I was the only one who got the right answer. Later that night, my teacher phoned in my parents and told them about it. My parents were very proud, so for dinner we got to all have Mcdonalds!!!!

for the beginning of my educational experience I went to a Christian private school where it was different and always kind of harder from a public school. They were always pushing you so at times it was kind of hard, but I always had an interest in learning so I tried to do my best and most often succeded.

My first educational experience was very interesting because I did not know a word in English. I was six and they put me into first grade right away even though I could not speak or understand them. The teacher tried to explain things to me by using jestures and speaking very slowly in English. It took some time but I began to understand very slowly but surely. Finally we started to understand each other and that experience is unforgettable. That experience interested me in learning and although it was a challenge i did it, I learned to speak English. I love to learn new things and am looking forward to learning yet a nother language.
