Tip of the week 05-27-2008

As we approach the end of the term and the academic school year, teachers and students are preparing to bring projects, papers, and testing to a close. This is often a stressful time for students given that multiple classes require very different product to demonstrate learning. Here are a few tips to help successfully navigate the end of the year.
  • Keep a calendar: This is more important now than ever. Calendars and planner will ensure that you are aware of turn in dates as well as allow you to schedule time to work on all classes.
  • Communicate with your instructors: The best way to check your progress on a project is to share what you have done so far with the instructor who assigned it and will be grading it. Instructors at CMC will be happy to go over current work and provide guidance and suggestions for project completion. This is also a great time to ask specific questions.
  • Develop daily to-do lists: These can provide as a constant reminder of required tasks as well provide a sense of accomplishment upon completion.
  • Be patient: Remember this is a stressful time for your peers and teachers as well. A little kindness will go a long way.
  • Keep Working: Its not over until the Gallagher sings. Use every day you have to complete course requirements.
  • Take some time for you: Make sure to have a little fun. Remember in all things we must find balance.

GOOD LUCK CMC

Nice tips for your class, Dan. I hope you are encouraging your students to check out your blog on a weekly basis at the end of this year so that you can get the hang of it and roll with it next year....
