Another program CMC offers to help bridge the gap from high school to college is our Cohort Program. CMC's Cohort Program bridges students' dreams with student success. In order to get into CMC's Cohort Program, students must fill out an early college application, and interview with the Department Chair of the Early College Options Program at CCC. Once students are admitted into the Cohort Program, the model follows a two-term transition from full-time attendance at CMC to full-time attendance at CCC. Both Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 contain a prescribed group of classes which will help support and provide students with the necessary skills to succeed as a full-time college student. Students are engaged in groups of 20-25 CMC students throughout cohort terms 1 and 2.
Students in the cohort are encouraged to continue taking their high school courses at the CMC campus.

In Cohort Term 2 (T2), CMC will pay for the classes within the cohort (8 credits) plus an additional course (3 credits). Books purchased for classes outside of the cohort will come out of the $450 allotment for the academic year (this amount will be pro-rated if a student is enrolled after the start of the year).
For the additional college class in Cohort Term 2 (T2), students are asked to check with Janet Lorenz at lorenzj@nclack.k12.or.us or at 503-518-5925 by supplying the name and author of the book to find out if we have the textbooks in stock prior to purchasing any books. If we do not have the books in stock the student may purchase the book and turn in an original receipt for reimbursement. No copies of receipts will be accepted. In addition to academic probation, the student will be required to pay for the dropped class. If a student gets a "D", fails a class, or receives an incomplete grade, the student will be placed on academic probation. If academic probation occurs over two consecutive terms, then the student will be asked to come back to the CMC campus for support in the area(s) of need. All dropped classes must be reported to CMC counselors prior to any drops.
