Clackamas Middle College chooses to recognize students every month with the exception of months that are broken up by breaks in the schedule where school is not in session (December and March). Teachers submit candidates who have shown exemplary behavior and/or academic performance during the month. Each staff member during a brief assembly, says a few encouraging words about each student and then presents the student with a gift card along with a certificate to recognize performance. Each student's picture is then put up in the school and on the website to display our students' accomplishments. At the end of the year, students who have been nominated for student of the month are automatically considered for student of the year award which recognizes the student who has shown consistency in academic and behavioral excellence.
